Gwyscope is primarily designed to allow development of user's own interface, i.e. a client which connects to the server running on the hardware. A sample graphical user interface described in this section is only one of all the possible realizations of such client and therefore is far from being complete and optimized.

The interface addresses:

• Set up of most typical measurement regimes (contact, tapping) and probe types (optical lever, self-sensing).
• Scanning using regular or non-regular scan patterns.
• Multiple path measurements (lift regimes).
• Point spectroscopy measurements and force volume data acquision.
• LUA scripting interface for autonomous measurements.
• Basic visualisation of scanned data, profiles and force-distance curves.
• Storage of all the data into Gwyddion files.
